Customer Account Manager

  • Are you an experienced Purchasing Administrator with a passion for Italian food?

Our client are a luxury Italian food importer and they're looking for an experienced purchasing administrator to join their small but cohesive team. The ability to speak Italian would be an advantage but not essential. The role involves managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers in Italy, and coordinating with transport companies to ensure timely delivery of goods. The successful candidate will also handle reporting and resolving any issues related to goods damaged in transit.

This position is 100% office based in Bermondsey and the working hours are 7am - 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Create and distribute PO Numbers to suppliers in Italy.
  • Enter PO Numbers against orders in an internal system.
  • Liaise with transport companies to ensure accurate delivery timeframes for goods.
  • Report any damage to goods in transit to suppliers in Italy.
  • Arrange for the replacement of any damaged or missing goods in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using Sage or another PO generation system
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Native or fluent Italian speaker - an advantage but not essential
  • Experience in liaising with transport companies and managing delivery schedules.
