Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with autism?

We are currently seeking a dedicated Support Practitioner to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to a 52-year-old man with autism. This part-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being and independence of an individual with unique needs.

You will be working approximately 12 hours per week and will receive a salary of £13 - £15 per hour. Flexibility is required as shift patterns may vary.

As Support Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Accompanying the individual with autism on errands and outings in the community, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Assisting with tasks such as food shopping and collection of specialised water, ensuring the individual's needs are met.
  • Fostering positive interactions and social engagement during community outings, promoting independence and inclusion.
  • Collaborating with the individual's support team to ensure consistency and continuity of care.

We're looking for a Support Practitioner with:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth understanding of autism spectrum disorders and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a car with business insurance for transportation.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (Preferred)

A DBS check will be made for this position, if not already obtained.
