I am actively seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a busy, successful Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy based in Gateshead. You will assist in managing one of their busiest structural teams where you will have the opportunity to be a part of their growing division, taking part in large commercial projects, such as two animal management centres with a project value of over £30m.

The successful applicant will ideally be someone who has significant experience in structural design (concrete, timber, steel and masonry), as well as having exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Preferably the candidate will either be studying towards Chartership (MIStructE) or already be Chartered.

It is essential for the candidate to have a professional and commercial viewpoint through having the following:

  • A relevant first-class degree. E.g., MEng in Structural Engineering
  • Associate memberships (ICE or IStructE) or chartered membership
  • Experienced designer with Tekla/MasterSeries
  • Quantitative and qualitative experience in building structure

Duties and responsibilities for this Structural Engineer include:

  • Reporting and analysing structural faults and remediation (if required)
  • Experience of scheme and detailed designs
  • Conducting structural surveys of buildings and structures, by offering solutions for any potential issues
  • Responsible for delivering projects effectively by managing client expectations
