Exciting opportunity an Enterprise Architect to a national organisation to help create and support the architecture assets and processes required to transform business requirements and strategies into a deliverable and documented IT vision.

This role involves working closely with both business and IT teams to turn this vision into practical and robust IT solutions as part of the development and governance processes.

This great opportunity to join a large and established IT Function who continue their transformation and digital journey. In this position you will play a key role and work on a variety of workstreams and projects etc.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Engage with the business to understand its strategies and priorities and turn them into an achievable and documented vision.
  • Define the scope and phasing for projects and/or programmes in collaboration with the business and IT.
  • Assist in the setup of the enterprise architecture practice, creating appropriate artefacts, processes, and governance.
  • Provide advice and expertise to senior management, project management, and IT teams.
  • Work with project teams to define the most appropriate IT approaches and solutions, considering all relevant requirements.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of the register of application, information, and technology landscape, including current and future state reference models and roadmaps.
  • Track industry trends and work with key vendors to influence the strategy and priorities of their products and services.
  • Handle issues and disagreements, ensuring the correct actions are taken and issues are resolved.
  • Take ownership of complex architecture problems and requirements.
  • Proactively identify and deal with risks before they become issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise architecture techniques and models (ideally based on a recognised framework, e.g., TOGAF).
  • A visionary architect who leads architectural thinking and best practice.
  • Experience in setting up an enterprise architecture practice, including creating artefacts, processes, and governance.
  • Customer-focused approach, working closely with business and IT.
  • Understanding of standard business and IT practices, approaches, and techniques.
  • Experience in interpreting business operating models and translating them into system strategies and solutions.
  • Experience in thinking strategically, creatively, and innovatively, and architecting innovative applications and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present complex subjects understandably for business owners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships at mid-senior management level.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices to carry out the role.
  • Calm, resilient, and able to manage in pressurised situations, making decisions in challenging circumstances.
