Management Accountant/Finance Manager

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Management Accountant/Finance Manager to join our client's dynamic team based in Crewe, Cheshire. As the Management Accountant/Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in managing the accounts department and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial transactions and payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the accounts function, overseeing the entire process from entry level to management account stage.
  • Prepare detailed cashflow reports, providing short to long-term projections.
  • Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Generate management accounts for the Managing Director and financial institutions.
  • Manage profit and loss, and analyse and reconcile balance sheets.
  • Coordinate payroll for all staff, partnering with an external provider.
  • Run supplier payment runs and process credit card expenditure accurately.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Process journals and monitor prepayments and accruals.
  • Manage payroll and pension control accounts reconciliation.
  • Analyse and account for interest and charges pertaining to hire purchases and business loans.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
  • Collaborate with external accountants and assist with sales invoicing and debt collection.

Key qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Accountant
  • Desirable to have started or fully completed AAT qualification.
  • Experience of working in the Manufacturing industry is essential
