We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Science Laboratory Technician to join a prestigious educational institution in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the science department by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for experiments, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations.
- Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as necessary.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform basic repairs and maintenance when required.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and secure laboratory environment for students and staff.
- Keep accurate records of laboratory activities and assist with the organization of laboratory schedules and resources.
- Support teachers in the development of laboratory exercises and experiments, providing input and suggestions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a school or educational institution.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures commonly used in science education.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teachers and other staff members.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
Working Hours:
- This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, following the school's operating hours.
