We are seeking a dedicated

Electrical Lecturer and Apprenticeship Assessor

to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest professional standards in the delivery of teaching programmes and overseeing the work-based assessment of apprenticeship programmes. This position involves significant organisational, coordination, and administrative duties to ensure the success of our students and apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Course Development:

Deliver formal scheduled teaching sessions, including the preparation and evaluation of materials. Engage in course delivery and development for assigned courses, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and relevance.

  • Assessment and Marking:

Assess student work and examinations, complete required awarding body paperwork, and participate in moderation activities as needed.

  • Apprenticeship Support:

Provide effective training and coaching to apprentices, helping them develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to succeed in their vocational field. Collaborate with employers to create tailored training programmes that prepare apprentices for successful End Point Assessment and competency in their chosen area.

  • Course Management:

Monitor and manage course information and data, including exam entries and liaison with awarding bodies. Prepare learning materials, assignments, and online resources to support student learning.

  • Student Guidance and Support:

Conduct interviews and offer advice and guidance to students. Participate in student visits, college promotional events, and work experience arrangements where appropriate.

  • Team Collaboration and Quality Improvement:

Engage in course reviews, self-assessment, and quality improvement planning as part of the course delivery team. Attend relevant team and cross-college meetings to ensure the continuous enhancement of the curriculum.

  • Professional Development:

Commit to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest educational practices and industry standards.

  • Communication and Compliance:

Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Adhere to all college policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems, and promote a culture of equality, diversity, and safeguarding within the learning environment.

  • Additional Duties:

Perform any other duties commensurate with the role as assigned, ensuring a professional and student-centered approach at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification:

A Level 3 qualification in an Engineering-related discipline.

  • Teaching Qualifications:

A Level 6 or above teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS) or a willingness to work towards obtaining one.

  • Assessor Qualifications:

A TAQA Assessor qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards obtaining it.

  • Literacy and Numeracy:

Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications or equivalent.

  • 7- 14 hours delivery per week
  • A highly motivated individual with a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Experience in delivering educational programmes and assessing apprenticeship training.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
