Accounts Payable Controller

We are recruiting a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Esher. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

We are looking for a personable and friendly individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with:

  • 1+ years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Outlook Email, Word and Excel, V-Lookups, Pivot tables) required for the role.
  • Organised, reliable and highly accurate with numbers.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage projects.
  • Must be a strong team player, have a good work ethic & remain professional at all times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent.
  • Access Dimensions experience is desirable.
  • Concur experience desirable

About The Role

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate authorisation of all invoices.
  • Code invoices to appropriate entities, business units and departments across the businesses.
  • Scan and file purchase ledger invoices.
  • Perform weekly/ monthly payment runs (BACs, CHAPS, foreign currency) & input payments into online banking system.
  • Weekly allocation of payments to allocated supplier accounts.
  • Maintaining & processing of direct debits
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements.
  • Checking & maintaining Accounts Payable Mailbox & Incoming post daily
  • Deal with supplier account queries via telephone, email and fax and resolve queries promptly / liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and missing invoices.
  • Bank reconciliations completed weekly/ monthly for multiple accounts.
  • Process employee expenses using Concur and prepare payment runs monthly.
  • Code and upload company credit card information.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Raise ad-hoc sales invoices for other Healix entities to cross-charge items.
  • Maintain a procedure manual of accounts payable tasks as a guide for backup assistance when such assistance becomes necessary.
  • Adhere to and enforce accounting process disciplines and manage responsibilities to strict deadlines.
  • Preparing and assisting with reports required by the business.
  • Maintaining an accurate and efficient filing system
  • Working closely with other finance and non-finance members
  • Ad hoc duties as they arise from line manager or other member of senior finance management team.

Required Criteria

  • 1+ years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
  • Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent.
