Financial Controller

We are excitied to present a fantastic opportunity to become a vital member of our client's Finance Team in the role of Financial Controller.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of critical financial data. You will be accountable for the delivery of the monthly balance sheet and cashflow forecast, along with the production of financial statements, reporting to the Finance Director.

To excel in this role, we are seeking a dedicated and qualified accountant with a proven track record in a similar position. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting our client's financial stability, growth and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company accounts
  • Delivering monthly balance sheet review including undertaking the monthly reconciliations
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends and develop financial forecasts
  • Develop budgets and financial plans, with regular review to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations and legislation
  • Complete month and year end procedures
  • VAT returns
  • Liaison with Financial Director and key stakeholders

Experience & Skills:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or qualified by experience in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end process
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Experience using XERO would be advantageous but not essential
