Operations & Freight Manager | Specialist Clothing and Equipment Manufacturer | Manchester | £50k - £60k
Zachary Daniels Recruitment are delighted to have partnered with a successful specialist supplier and manufacturer of equipment for a variety of sectors. We are looking for an Operations & Freight Manager to work within their Supply Chain team.
The ideal candidate MUST have previous experience in a similar role and have an understanding of customs and shipping procedures for the UK, EU and US. A background within fulfilment, preferably retail or a fast paced commercial environment is required to be considered. Meaningful experience of managing various global carriers across various territories would be desirable.
Only applicants with eligibility to work in the UK will be considered.
Please note, this role is based on site 5 days per week but after a successful probation will become hybrid.
Responsibilities of the Operations & Freight Manager:
- Manage the company's shipments from around the world
- Ensure cargo is promptly customs cleared and delivered to our warehouses and customers across the world
- Processing shipping invoices and monitoring logistics-based costs
- Process and check shipping documents, liaising with suppliers and customers across the world
- Ensure the company is obtaining the best prices and services from shipping lines and standardising freight forwarding processes
The ideal candidate:
- Freight - Import / Export & logistics experience is a must
- Sound knowledge of Shipping procedures
- Be commercially minded and be able to work well in a pressurised environment
- Able to initially work on site 5 days per week
