Support Service Worker

This public sector organisation based in Hartlepool is currently recruiting for a Support Service Worker to join their team on a full-time temporary basis.

Your new role

To provide responsive, high quality, support to clients, in order to promote independent living, as appropriate.The successful candidate will be accountable for monitoring and analysing each individual's support requirements while also offering practical assistance, advocacy, and guidance as part of an efficient team to help promote independent living.
Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assisting clients, by providing support in a flexible and person centred way, delivering practical tasks which address their needs and aspirations, and support their ability to build and develop strong networks through drafting and assisting in the implementation of support/ treatment plans.
  • Draft individual client risk assessments through effective communication and rapport building with the client.
  • Contribute to the review of support plans and risk assessments in a timely manner, informing all relevant parties of significant changes and alerts as you become aware of them.
  • Work with the Support Service Coordinator to identify when clients are ready to exit the services, helping them to prepare for independence.
  • Promote independent living using positive role modelling behaviours, such as how to behave in meetings, routine appointments and public spaces.
  • Assist in ensuring the maintenance of high quality accommodation, effective rent collection and efficient void and housing management.
  • Follow basic client involvement and best practice guidelines as required
  • Comply with all internal and external audit requirements, including quality standards and accreditation and other commissioner requirements as directed.

What you'll need to succeed

  • An understanding of Financial, HR, Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity requirements.
  • Ability to use ICT appropriately.
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, policy and procedures relating to safeguarding clients and other people at risk of abuse, Health and Safety, lone working procedures and risk management
  • Flexible in approach to working hours, including some weekend and evening work
  • Emotional resilience, confidence to deal with stressful situations, lone working, and ability to use initiative
  • Ability to achieve realistic targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and flexible in approach
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work with a wide range of vulnerable clients.
  • Full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle and able to travel across the region as required
