Are you a qualified Engineer from an Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical engineering background relating to vehicle or robotic design looking to work in the exciting heavy lift Drone sector?

You will be keen to impact a Research and Development environment and have experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering directly pertaining to vehicle design or robotic systems, preferably in the UAV space and have evidence of past work testing complex systems and building vehicles or robots utilising high-power drives or actuators.

The Role:
Integration and Debugging:

  • Seamlessly integrate and debug complex systems involving electrical, electro-mechanical, and software components on UAS and test fixtures.
  • Collaborate with internal and third-party engineering teams to integrate new systems and payloads.

Project Leadership:

  • Define work for engineers and technicians to achieve integration goals.
  • Create comprehensive testing plans to evaluate the performance of every element of a new capability.

Flight Operations:

  • Support flight test safety and integration testing.
  • Understand UAS regulations to facilitate applications for operational authorizations
  • Work closely with our Flight-Testing team, participating in pre- and post-flight procedures and operating in the Ground Control Station.

Technical Expertise:

  • Adept use of hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
  • Data analysis experience using off-the-shelf packages or self-scripted tools

Data Analysis and Trials:

  • Collect and analyse data for reporting and performance improvement identification.
  • Support the planning of complicated national and international trials.

The Person:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience building vehicles or robots utilizing high-power drives or actuators.
