Marketing Director - Wigan (hybrid 2 days per week) - Up to £46,500

The Role:

The Marketing Director will play a crucial role in transforming the charity's approach to marketing and building relationships with schools, the cultural sector, and other agencies. The role's expertise will drive the uptake of events, training courses, leadership programmes, consultancy, and evaluation services. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new senior role within a highly regarded charity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive Relationships and Marketing strategy.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and lead the Marketing and Communications Team, integrating communication needs across the organisation.
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate and grow relationships with key partners across various sectors, enhancing collaboration and expanding the organisation's footprint.
  • Marketing Strategy: Increase demand and uptake of services, develop differentiated approaches for specific audiences, and lead the development of marketing and sales functions in Salesforce CRM.
  • Resource Management: Oversee budget allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources, and track and analyse the effectiveness of marketing actions using data.
  • Income Generation: Mobilise the team to create marketing assets and equip colleagues with skills to maximise income generation opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential partners beyond the current regional and sector footprint.
  • Reporting and Accountability: Report to the Executive Management Team and provide evidence of impact and progress to the Board.

Essential Attributes and Skills:

  • Leadership: Proven high-level marketing expertise and leadership experience.
  • Sector Knowledge: Recent knowledge of the education, cultural, or children's services sectors is advantageous.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies.
  • Data Analysis: Capable of collecting and analysing data to inform and improve strategies.
  • Project Management: Effective project and people management skills.
  • Technological Proficiency: Embrace and utilise technological innovations.
  • Flexibility: Organised yet adaptable, capable of managing competing demands.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and advocacy.
