Housing Regional Manager
Northwest & Greater Manchester
40 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
The Housing Regional Manager will oversee the management and operations of housing services within the Northwest & Greater Manchester region. This role involves leading a team to ensure high-quality housing provision, tenant satisfaction, and effective management of housing stock. The manager will also develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve housing services, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the regional housing team.
  • Recruit, induct, manage, appraise, and develop staff to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Oversee the allocation and tenancy management functions for households in need of housing.
  • Ensure the timely and appropriate allocation of accommodation and the management of temporary housing solutions.
  • Manage the resettlement and move-on processes to support tenants in transitioning to permanent housing.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement regional housing strategies aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Work closely with social care services to support the move-on of families to suitable accommodation.
  • Lead on cross-service initiatives and understand the impact of housing decisions on other service areas.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including landlords, registered providers, and voluntary agencies.
  • Manage risks associated with temporary accommodation services, including those managed by external providers.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar senior management role within housing services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.

The Package
This is a temporary, Regional Manager role, for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
