Relief Support Worker

The Relief Support Worker role is an opportunity for you to utilize your existing experience and knowledge of working with adults with a learning disability and forensic background. This role is based at Heysham in Lancashire.

You will be warm, understanding and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be highly motivated and interested in working with people with complex needs and histories. You will be emotionally resilient and open to working with our Practice Lead to enable the service to strive to learn and change with our service users.

You will provide practical support to individuals to enable them to participate in community activities. You will also work with and develop a personal support plan that addresses individual needs, including helping service users to develop their domestic, financial and emotional management and achieve greater independence and self-esteem. You will actively liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, as well as advocates/family members.

We need dedicated, flexible and responsive individuals to provide personalised support in line with the principles of recovery and who are highly motivated, have a positive outlook and are able to engage and motivate individuals to participate in a range of activities. You will have a keen insight into the challenges that our service users face on a daily basis and an awareness of the delivery of supported living care. You will be paid on a weekly basis.
