Primary Teacher/Assistant SENCO Wanted for September!

Reed Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher and Assistant SENCO to join our independent specialist school in Woking. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Day to day of the role:
- Spend 3 days teaching and 2 days performing SENCO duties, building professional, nurturing, and positive relationships with students.
- Create and deliver exciting and engaging lesson plans that challenge and motivate students across a range of abilities and needs.
- Manage complex and challenging behaviours with attention, effective communication, consistency, and flexibility.
- Collaborate with education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams, and students to secure outstanding outcomes.
- Contribute to the decision-making process that drives the school and advocate for every child's needs.
- Develop both the academic curriculum and the extra-curricular offer, incorporating personal interests and passions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEMH and SEND, such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
- Ability to manage complex and challenging behaviours in a non-judgmental manner.
- Strong commitment to child-centred and therapeutic approaches to education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to undergo extensive therapeutic training and support.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
