Process Control Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Process Control Engineer to work out of our Deephams Sewage Treatment Works. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the Sewage Treatment Works, working as part of a team of Process Controllers, to ensure the effective and continuous operation of the works (24/7).

What you'll be doing as a Process Control Engineer

As the Process Control Engineer, you will find that no working day is the same. You will receive full training and support for the Health & Safety, technical and process requirements related to the plant.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Control the overall operation of the Works processes, plant, and equipment.
  • Monitoring, collating, and reporting of data to ensure that statutory and regulatory compliance is met, and the works meet regulatory quality standards and customer demand.
  • Process fault finding and suitable rectification by the first fix, raising issues to the maintenance scheduler or team leader as required.
  • Assist with on-site capital project works, coordinate maintenance and operational personnel raising reactive work when required, and maximise financial benefits from the power generation plant.
  • Undertake safety and security checks.
  • Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of self and colleagues.

Base Location: Deephams - Enfield, North London - N9 0BA.

Working Pattern or hours: 38 per week.

What you should bring to the role

  • Significant experience in a relevant industry and with experience managing or controlling the relevant treatment processes.
  • Technical C&G or HNC desirable.
  • Completion of NVQ level 2 units, BTEC or equivalent experience.
  • Prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Ability to work unsupervised on 12-hour shifts, day or night.
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.
  • Previous experience with SCADA systems would be an advantage.
