Interim Contract Manager

Cedar are supporting a Public Sector organisation who are looking to hire an Interim Contract Manager. The role is on a contract that will run until the end of March 2025 and offers a day rate of £400 up to £500 (INSIDE IR35). The role will operate on a hybrid basis, predominantly working from home but with the requirement to be on-site, in London, 1 day per week (nominated day is Thursday). Please note the successful candidate will need to have or be willing to undergo SC Clearance if successfully appointed.

The successful candidate will be required to manage strategic, high value/important, contracts and implement performance management improvement plans with key suppliers. You will be required to manage relationships with senior stakeholders and help mobilise contracts, including setting up governance processes. The successful candidate will need to ensure compliance with Public Sector Contract Management/Procurement processes etc.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • Strong background working in Contract Management within the Public Sector marketplace is required - this role is purely focused on managing strategically important contracts within the department so hands on Contract Management experience is required as a result - candidates without experience working directly in a Contract Management role in the Public Sector will not be considered
  • Experience implementing performance management improvements plans with suppliers and turning performance around
  • Experience mobilising contracts, setting up governance processes and performance management along with a good understanding of Contract Management tolls such as Risk Register, Business Continuity, Improvement and Exit plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
