Finance Lead - D365 Implementation

Robert Half have partnered with a market leading organisation based near Bristol to support with the recruitment an interim Finance Lead to support in their ongoing Finance Transformation.

This role will be a pivotal part of the global roll-out of D365 across their organisation.

Salary: Around £70,000 per annum

Duration: 18-month FTC

Start date: September 2024

Hybrid working: 3 days on site per week

Working with senior transformation leaders, you will take responsibility for:

  • Assist the Program Team in introducing and launching the D365 deployment and methodology at the site level. Collaborate with the local site and cross-functional teams to conduct an operating model assessment and deliver the future-state global blueprint process awareness, capturing any necessary requirements.
  • Identify site-specific needs for localisation, integrations, data, and mapping. Work closely with program partners to resolve cross-functional challenges and complex processes.
  • Develop a Gap Fit analysis and change impact strategy to create a comprehensive cross-functional solution blueprint, ensuring site confidence and securing stakeholder approval.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Systems Team, external partners, and IT on system requirements development and validation. Implement a change management plan addressing organisational, process, and data requirements.
  • Support SIT, SAT, and FAT testing, and create a business readiness toolkit that reflects the final solution design.
  • Act as the liaison between the Local Site Team and the Finance Systems and Data Teams to reconcile and harmonise master and transactional data throughout all ETL cycles.
  • Partner with the Local Finance Team and Finance Systems Team to develop a detailed Cutover plan for Master Transactional Data.
  • Develop and support the delivery of a robust and effective training plan for all Finance modules, covering both D365 and business processes.
  • Successfully manage and deliver User Acceptance Testing for Global Blueprint and Localisation functionality, in collaboration with IT and the Local Site Team.
  • Oversee the final solution acceptance and cutover execution to ensure all prerequisites for Go-Live are met.
  • Guide the Local Team through Go-Live and adoption, providing hyper-care support through established business channels. Address defects, ensure smooth service transition to BAU, and capture continuous improvement opportunities and lessons learned for future deployments or site-specific improvements.

Essentials for this position:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in key Finance processes, including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Fixed Assets, Record to Report, Payroll, and Expense Management, across major finance systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, etc.
  • Proven experience in project managing the implementation of a Finance system, such as SAP, D365, or Oracle.
  • Experience working on large-scale change projects or ERP system upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior internal and external stakeholders, providing essential information, driving decisions, and resolving issues effectively.
