The Client

Our Client has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, learning and physical disabilities. When she is in pain, she may become upset and frustrated as a sign of communicating her needs. During these times she can reflect this in kicking, pinching and refusal of personal care, meals, and drinks.

The role requires the individual to undertake personal care, manual handling and administer medication. Our Client is an avid football fan who loves swimming and her hydrotherapy sessions. It is a requirement that all Support Workers are willing to go into the swimming pool to provide support during hydrotherapy sessions although you don't need to be a swimmer to provide this support. The successful candidate will also need to actively participate in her rehabilitation programme following training from her MDT team and adherence to the protocols in the care plan.

Hobbies & Interests

Our Client is encouraged to live as full, active, and comfortable life as possible, so social and recreational activities are vital, together with learning her communication strategies due to her being non-verbal.

The entire family have a love of football and a football is used within her rehabilitation programme to ensure engagement and maximum fun. She loves her hydrotherapy sessions, pop music, reading, going for a walk, a drive in the car, visiting the park and shopping!
