Reporting into the Director Talent, L&D, ED&I and Social Promise, the Senior Talent Development Lead is a highly skilled HR professional with experience of talent management. You will need to be strategic, influential and confident in building relationships at all levels. You will need a commercial mindset and to be analytical in your approach. Strong communication and leadership skills are a must. This role will oversee the development, implementation and embedding of succession planning practices, talent management and development programmes to enable high potential talent to meet future and changing business needs. You will be contributing to the design and implementation of career development strategies, tools and resources. You will be expected to be the expert on the internal talent market for a broad range of functions and advise the business teams on trends and opportunities.

As the Senior Talent Development Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing talent management strategies that align with the organisation's business goals and objectives.
  • Partnering with HR and business leaders to drive talent initiatives supporting their business strategy
  • Creating assessment approaches to identify talented individuals or groups
  • Designing and delivering talent interventions such as development and retention programmes
  • Designing succession plans and contingency frameworks for business critical roles
  • Reviewing workforce planning data to feed into our talent strategy
  • Evaluating the success of talent programmes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Creating an internal and external pipleline of talent through working with partners and other 3rd parties
  • To produce reports, analysis, and presentations as required
  • To support the wider Talent, L&D, ED&I, Apprentice team and Social Promise commitments as needed
  • Embedding ED&I to develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
  • To make sure you are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene – including report H&S issues to your line manager and to promote good safety habits and methods of work

The successful Senior Talent Development Lead will have:

  • A strong understanding and passion of talent acquisition, management and development underpinned with an inquisitive nature and a growth mindset
  • Strong project management and organisational skills – is diligent and has an eye for detail
  • Analytical and able to interpret data, providing both strategic and tactical insight in support of recommendations
  • Demonstrable experience maintaining and influencing relationships with key stakeholders to support your strategies
  • Ability to take on a broad spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
  • Great interpersonal and motivational skills with the ability and initiative to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High standard of literacy skills and excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Canva desirable)
  • Integrity and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Desirable but not essential:

  • A Bachelors or Master's Degree (or relevant work experience)
  • CIPD qualified
  • Trained in various psychometric tools
  • Qualified coach
  • Has worked in consultancy or has a professional services background
