Mpeople recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Engineer to join the expanding team of a well-established manufacturing company based in the Tameside area. This position will work on a full time, permanent basis.
Due to the nature of the business, successful candidates will undergo a DBS check and references to cover the last 3 years.
- Role: Cost Engineer
- Location: Hyde
- Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
- Hours: 8am to 5pm with an early finish on Fridays
Duties as an Cost Engineer will include but not be limited to:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, treatments, finished projects etc.
- Considering various factors including labour and overhead costs of projects
- Reading and understanding technical drawings, liaise with engineering teams to ensure correct interpretation where necessary
- Evaluating quotes from various suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and quality
- Liaising with internal teams, clients and suppliers
The successful Cost Engineer will possess the following skills:
- A good understanding of the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of supply chains including materials, treatments etc.
- Competent with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
