Job Title: Accounts Manager
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)
We are seeking an Accounts Manager for a highly reputable firm of chartered accountants in Cambridge. What Will You Do?
As part of the accounting services team, you will manage a diverse portfolio, primarily focusing on clients within the healthcare sector. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the management of your portfolio, which involves workforce planning, work-in-progress (WIP) management, and billing.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of assignment plans and effectively briefing team members.
- Delegating tasks to junior team members while ensuring work is completed within budget.
- Reviewing files prepared by junior colleagues and producing completed files for final partner review.
- Collaborating with partners to effectively plan and manage workflow for the team.
- Building and nurturing client relationships, both with existing clients and new opportunities.
What Experience Will You Bring?

- A professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) is essential.
- Experience in managing a portfolio of healthcare clients, including statutory accounts preparation and tax computations is required.
- Proven people management experience.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- A commercial and proactive approach to client development.
- A good working knowledge of accounting software.
