We are looking for a dedicated HR Assistant to provide high-quality Human Resource support services within our educational institution. The ideal candidate will maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information professionally, and be the first point of contact for HR-related queries.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including advertising, coordinating interviews, and ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed.
  • Build effective relationships with recruitment agencies.
  • Act as the first line of support by handling telephone queries and general enquiries.
  • Maintain manual and electronic personnel filing systems in compliance with file retention and archiving policies.
  • Provide administrative support by maintaining accurate records of staff details, salary increments, and temporary responsibilities.
  • Assist with monthly payroll submissions and liaise with school payroll as needed.
  • Support data preparation for the school's workforce census.
  • Advise on staff absence, attend meetings to take notes, and assist in managing absence records.
  • Assist in the development and review of HR policies and activities.
  • Update the school's intranet site with HR-related information.
  • Record and monitor probation and end-of-year reviews.
  • Develop knowledge of HR policies and procedures to support staff and managers.
  • Produce management information reports and assist with payroll claims.
  • Support staff inductions and Occupational Health referrals.
  • Participate in projects, training, and the delivery of HR-related services.
  • Stay updated with relevant legislation and policies, and attend external events as required.
  • Comply with policies related to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Establish constructive relationships with all stakeholders and participate in regular meetings.
  • Promote a positive image and a welcoming environment that supports equal opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Human Resources or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant software and databases, such as HRIS or similar systems.
