Client Manager Management Accountant

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and ambitious accountancy firm in Pudsey, West Yorkshire as a Client Manager, overseeing the financial accounts for a select client portfolio, as well as having full autonomy to build your own client base under the generous bonus scheme.

Working in partnership with the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will have an ambitious outlook and growth mindset and be easily able to build rapport with business owners from various industries and trades. Either an ACA or ACCA qualification is essential for this role, as well as experience in previously managing client relationships and providing excellence in customer service.

The accountancy firm covers all areas of accounting for their SME clients, including personal and corporate tax advice, accounting software solutions, financial management reports, bookkeeping, statutory accounts and business planning. The ideal candidate will have had experience in managing a portfolio of SME clients previously including their workloads and deadlines and have a strong understanding of the challenges they face, as well as the support required.

A week in the life...
A typical week in this role will be highly varied, starting your day either in our Pudsey based office, at a networking event or for those times when you really need solitude to focus on client work, from home if you prefer. There will be daily contact with clients, providing support on queries across the full spectrum of finance, filing accounts and providing tax and business advice. You will be encouraged to build your own network and will be rewarded generously for new clients that you onboard.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and being responsible for providing an excellent customer experience.
  • To work within the existing accounts preparation team, preparing more complex accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and incorporated businesses.
  • Reviewing accounts and managing groups of clients through their filing deadlines and requirements.
  • Preparing tax computations and advising clients on tax issues alongside tax planning opportunities.
  • Preparing associated income, partnership, and corporation tax returns.
  • Overseeing various filing requirements throughout the year for clients.
  • Bookkeeping management and VAT return review and preparation.
  • Supporting clients through the transition from manual records to cloud software.
  • Onboarding of new clients, ensuring that the relationship gets off to the best start.
  • Assisting the firm in progressing and improving its internal procedures around client onboarding and ensuring compliance.
  • Managing junior members of staff in the preparation of accounts.
  • Networking in order to build your own client portfolio

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Will have a minimum of 2 years practice experience post qualification.
  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Desire to progress their career within the firm
  • Will have strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Will have knowledge in Xero, QuickBooks and SAGE
  • Will have strong communication skills.
