Finance Manager

My client based in Welwyn Garden City is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team. The purpose of job is day to day management of company finances, timely and accurate management reporting and management of finance department staff.

Main Objectives

  • Ownership of month end accounts preparation for UK, France and Malaysian entities.
  • Accurate and timely entry and processing of financial records; Departmental safety, retention and development of staff; maximise cash balance and availability
  • Accurate monthly production of Management Accounts for UK, France and Malaysia
  • Monthly payroll
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff ensuring deadlines are meAll statutory submissions are entered on time and right first time
  • Clear and effective communication between internal and external stakeholders

Description of Task

Day to Day Management of Company Finances

  • Manage month end process to include journals, prepayments, accruals, commission calculations; cashbook, fixed asset register and stock and corporation tax
  • Maintain cashbooks and bank reconciliations. Raise non AP and salary payments.
  • P&L and Balance sheet variance analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Management of staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of all supplier and customer transactions for the UK, French and Malaysian entities.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for UK, France and Malaysia
  • Monthly payroll calculations and entry for UK.
  • Ensure all statutory records and payments are up to date.

Statutory Reporting

  • Quarterly VAT calculation and submission for UK
  • Monthly French VAT administration
  • Annual audit information and preparation
  • Annual return filing - PAYE, P11d'setc

People Management

Review and monitor skills matrix in the Finance area; review training records and areas for skills improvement; operate system of appraisals and feedback; encourage and motivate staff to achieve high service levels and promote continuous improvement

Salary- Up to £46,000

Full time 37.5 hour per week, with flexi time (i.e. can start at 8am)
