Short-term contract - Interim Senior Online Trading Manager will take ownership for the trading of the website and leading the eCommerce trading team. Here you will be accountable for online sales performance across all categories, trade plans and forecasting and daily maintenance of site content and merchandising.
The roles and responsibilities in this Interim Senior Online Trading Manager include-
- Assist the Head of Ecommerce in weekly trade meetings by reporting on trading performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Actively monitor and respond to real-time trade conditions and competitor actions, continuously devising, evaluating, and recommending trading strategies to optimise revenue and conversion rates.
- Build and manage the online trading calendar, aligning with Merchandising and Digital Marketing around new launches, promotional activity, Sales, calendar events etc.
- Oversee the timely launch of new collections, leading a team responsible for content management, site merchandising and trading activities.
- Drive performance through continual AB testing of strategies.
- Collaborate with the wider ecommerce development team to identify and prioritise site functionality development and UX opportunities within BAU development workflow.
- Work with finance regarding establishing budgets, quarterly and weekly forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage regular site walks to maintain site quality and continually optimise site performance.
- Promote L&D within the digital trading team, advocating for new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuously track site engagement and conversion funnels, making necessary adjustments to content and merchandising to maximise performance.
To be successful in this Interim Senior Online Trading Manager position -
- Ideally having 5 years+ experience in eCommerce, online trading or eCommerce Merchandising.
- Someone who is immediately available - this is a short-term contract of 3 months +
- Have leadership experience or managed 1 or more perm members of the team at a coordinate or executive level.
- Ideally having retail or eCommerce experience within fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, or mixed product
- Proven experience of delivering revenue growth in a digital trading role for a fashion-focused DTC ecommerce business
- Extensive knowledge of site merchandising strategies and their impact on ecommerce KPIs and revenue.
- Customer-centric- focused on optimising site journeys that effectively balance brand identity and commercial goals.
- Proficient in creating and adjusting financial forecasts to reflect changing trade conditions.
