Instrumentation Manager

As the next Aston Martin Instrumentation Manager, you are a resilient and well-organised individual with a positive, can-do attitude. You have a passion for measurements and excel in communication at all levels. Your main goal is to provide the necessary data for challenging projects, thriving on the satisfaction of meeting people's needs. Your responsibility is to lead the Instrumentation team in meeting data collection requirements for new vehicle development.

Maintaining team dynamics and cooperation is crucial to avoid any delays. Instrumentation is a niche but vital area for Aston Martin products. Working on diverse and special projects can be incredibly fulfilling.

To succeed in this role, you must possess positivity, resilience, excellent organisational skills, a love for measurements, and strong communication abilities. You will manage a team of 12 people based in our Prototype Centre in Wellesbourne. Leading your team involves managing workloads, timekeeping, holidays, appraisals, and more. You will also need to provide technical expertise in measurement techniques, transducers, data logging equipment, manage the equipment database, and ensure all measurements meet traceable standards.

As the future Instrumentation Manager, you will drive the team towards success by offering technical leadership and ensuring data collection requirements are met for new vehicle development. Being a skilled and people-oriented technical lead, while effectively handling administrative tasks, is essential. Leading the Instrumentation team will play a vital role in supporting DVP sign off and resolving ongoing issues. Your full-time presence in the office is required

The Key Requirements...

  • Experience in instrumentation measurement in a prototype environment, preferably automotive industry or related fields.
  • & Hands on experience with high performance engine/drivetrain building / teardown and analysis
  • Knowledge of measuring engine/drivetrain components correctly with appropriate tools
  • Proven track record of delivering robust and sound engineering solutions to intricate problems
  • Failure investigations and problem solving
