Location: Leeds - hybrid with 2 days per week onsite
Salary: £55-65k + bonus + excellent benefits

About the Role:

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS), you will report directly to the Infrastructure Team Lead and collaborate with both internal teams and external vendors. You will be responsible for providing top-tier support and ensuring the efficient delivery of cloud services across a wide range of technologies. Your ability to deliver exceptional customer service and your strong interpersonal skills will be key to succeeding in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality IT support and lead cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Configure and deploy cloud services, including integration with third-party tools.
  • Provide technical consultation on current and future cloud services.
  • Plan and scope highly available cloud solutions.
  • Support existing cloud services and infrastructure, liaising with the Service Desk team as needed.
  • Maintain and create essential technical documentation.
  • Adopt and promote a DevOps culture, staying updated with the latest industry offerings.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Infrastructure Team Lead.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an SME IT environment, focusing on AWS cloud-based roles.
  • Core AWS services proficiency, including EC2, Storage, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and code pipeline management.
  • Solid understanding of AWS VPC network roles, including Transit Gateways and Direct Connect.
  • DevOps knowledge, particularly in continuous delivery and integration.
  • Experience in server OS system configuration and maintenance.
  • Skilled in AWS billing, management, and root cause analysis.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure project delivery.
  • Knowledge of high availability, backup technologies, and AWS security best practices.
  • Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
  • Full UK driving license required.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ITIL practices and change control processes.
  • Knowledge of networking topologies, including VLANs, routing, and remote access.
  • Familiarity with advanced AWS services such as IoT, Machine Learning, and Containerisation.
  • Experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Experience with FortiGate routers and firewalls.
  • Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
  • ITIL certification is advantageous.
