Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our friendly and motivated team to manage and prioritize a varied workload while adhering to deadlines. Provide a highly effective and client-focused bookkeeping service, maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with team members to generate and distribute sales invoices.
  • Conduct credit control by regularly emailing statements and flagging accounts for further action internally.
  • Process self-bill invoices, handle payments, and reconcile transactions.
  • Perform purchase ledger payment runs.
  • Track and reconcile company credit card expenditures.
  • Make cash book entries and perform bank reconciliation.
  • Reconcile and process staff expense claims.
  • Assist in various financial tasks and projects.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare VAT reports.
  • Manage payroll from start to finish, including pensions and salary sacrifice.
  • Perform additional bookkeeping duties as required.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant.
  • Experience with Xero and QuickBooks (desirable).
  • Knowledge of the CIS Scheme (desirable).
  • AAT qualifications or equivalent (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently with initiative.
  • Client-focused, capable of building rapport and providing timely customer service.
