Our client, a global music company, is seeking a highly organised Royalty Income Analyst to join their team for a six-month contract, working four days a week in their central London offices. The role sits within the International Royalty team and will involve contributing to the day-to-day operations of royalty processing.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and delivering accurate royalty runs to schedule.
  • Prioritising suspense items releases.
  • Receiving cash receipt details, royalty statements and data files from societies and third parties.
  • Loading royalties accurately using data review and analysis.
  • Preparing reports and presentations of royalties for management review.
  • Working across both manual and industry formats to load royalty income into the inhouse royalty system.
  • Researching with the team how to reduce the values of income going into Suspense.
  • Using the inhouse royalty system to match works to royalty income accurately.
  • Ensuring that songwriters' royalty statements align with money due.
  • Conducting income reconciliation on both a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Supporting with ad hoc duties and project-based work for the global administration division.
  • Responding to inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the music industry and using royalties databases is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with royalties processing is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and detail orientated abilities.
  • Able to rapidly learn new processes and systems.
  • Problem solving abilities and able to suggest improvements to work methods.
  • Strong Excel skills and data manipulation.
  • Results-driven and highly organised, able to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Love of music and recognises the value of service to rights holders.
  • Confident working in a busy office environment.
