Interim Year End Accountant

Absolute are actively seeking a highly skilled and Interim Year End Accountant to support the company through its upcoming audit. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering and preparing all relevant financial information and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and completeness. The role requires extensive reconciliation work, meticulous management of the fixed asset register, and strong manual manipulation skills, particularly in Excel. The financial statements preparation is outsourced, so the focus will be on providing comprehensive and precise data to the auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and gather all necessary financial information and disclosures for the audit process.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of various accounts, including bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform detailed forensic investigations to trace and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Collaborate with the external auditors, providing them with all required documentation and explanations.
  • Utilize Workday Financials for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manually manipulate large datasets in Excel to prepare schedules and analyses for the audit.
  • Liaise with various internal departments to obtain supporting documentation and explanations.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the finance function and recommend actionable solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Finalist/Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in preparing for and supporting external audits.
  • Strong forensic accounting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proficient in using Workday Financials (desirable)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Uxbridge - Hybrid (2 days in the office)

Day rate - £260 -£300 (umbrella/inside IR35)
