Location - Margate, Kent

Salary - Up to £27,000 DOE per annum

Hours - Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 12 noon

Our client, a well established manufacture are looking to recruit a Sales Order Agent to join the team on a full time permanent basis.

Duties and responsibilities for the role of Sales Order Processing Agent

  • Keep customers informed through to resolution regarding any issues raised
  • Process customer orders onto site systems
  • Participate in cross-training as agreed with your line manager to ensure continuity for customers across the team during colleague absences
  • Respond to customer queries via email or phone in a timely and efficient manner
  • Update pricing details on product records
  • Provide effective administrative support to internal teams and customers
  • Liaise with Sales representatives and other departments within the business, advising them of new orders received
  • Update and maintain the sales order book
  • Manage and handle incoming calls
  • Update customer records
  • Process sales orders and ensure daily orders are dispatched on time
  • Handle emails and general enquiries via the website
  • Manage inbound and outbound communication related to orders via telephone and email
  • Update and maintain various company databases
  • Work closely with other departments, keeping them informed of any information that will contribute to the smooth running of the business

Person specification for the role of Sales Order Processing Agent

  • It is essential candidate has a polite manner and good telephone support skills when dealing with customers
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in computer-based sales order processing (preferably IFS), along with good keyboard skills
  • Good communication and people skills via email and telephone are an essential requirement
  • Preferably have a sales admin work history in a similar role or setting
  • Ideally successful candidate will have IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems) experience
  • The ability to communicate efficiently on the telephone, via email and in person
  • Experience using Microsoft Office. Outlook/Word/Excel is a prerequisite for this role
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritise
  • Desire to provide exceptional customer service, exceeding customer expectations
