Civils and Cabling Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civils and Cabling Supervisor in Wiltshire.

Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will supervise the external contractors. You will be expected to lead, driving delivery on-site while ensuring compliance with company and legislative health, safety, and quality standards.

It would be your responsibility to ensure that job packs, materials and system requirements are all managed.

Previous experience in a similar role with PIA and new build knowledge is essential, ideally from the Client side of operations.

The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervised and coordinated civils activities and civils gangs.
  • Scheduling and allocating the workstack via Smartsheet and Render.
  • Committing to weekly THP targets.
  • Resource management and planning for project delivery.
  • Managing work packs, works validation, and site-specific planning.
  • Daily communication, discussing commitments / projected forecasts and completions.
  • Undertaking daily risk assessments, ensuring necessary changes or requirements are captured and actioned.
  • Drive a safety-first culture, coaching, supporting and mentoring operatives.
  • Ensure correct documentation is always available on site (RAMS, work packs, utility prints, etc.)
  • Responsible for site set-up and ongoing maintenance, with a solid focus on NRSWA and CDM compliance.
  • Material management for the complete build.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and the management team.
  • Carrying out regular site meetings.
  • Two-way reporting of site activities.
  • Complete regular onsite H&S audits.

The Ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a Cabling / Civils Supervisor, preferably from the client.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Telecom's FTTx and PIA Networks
  • NRSWA Qualification (Supervisor).
  • Experience in conducting H&S / quality audits and managing SHEQ on-site.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety, specifically CDM
  • A good understanding of Local Authority permit-to-work Schemes and FPN's.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to set good examples and motivate and mentor others.
  • A good problem solver with experience in design change and dealing with issues as they arise.
  • SA001, SA002 UG / OH Accreditations.
  • Experience in street works working environment and an in-depth knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
  • Good communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points)
