Stanton House is recruiting an Interim M&A Consultant (6 months initially) for an innovative and dynamic private equity-backed business embarking on an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. This business will be acquiring and integrating companies valued between £2-5 million. Their goal is to drive growth, streamline operations, and create value through strategic acquisitions. We are seeking a talented M&A Consultant to support our acquisition and integration efforts.

Job Description:

As an M&A Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and integrating target businesses. You will work closely with our executive team to ensure seamless transitions and drive value creation across our portfolio. Your expertise will be critical in executing the buy-and-build strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets within the £2-5 million range.
  • Conduct thorough financial, operational, and strategic assessments of target companies.
  • Develop and present acquisition proposals and financial models to senior management.

Due Diligence:

  • Lead and coordinate due diligence processes, including financial, legal, operational, and commercial reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive due diligence.

Transaction Execution:

  • Assist in negotiating and structuring acquisition agreements.
  • Manage transaction processes, timelines, and documentation.
  • Work closely with legal, financial, and advisory teams to ensure smooth deal execution.

Integration:

  • Develop and implement integration plans for acquired businesses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operational integration.
  • Monitor post-acquisition performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Strategy and Analysis:

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Analyse industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • A oven track record of successfully executing M&A transactions, particularly in the £2-5 million range.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and integration processes.
