Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
- Develop and implement innovative and engaging curriculum plans that cater to a diverse range of educational needs.
- Support and mentor other Maths teachers, fostering professional growth and development within the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, implementing targeted interventions where necessary to ensure all students can succeed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote a whole-school approach to numeracy, enhancing the overall learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching qualifications, such as PGCE or equivalent, with QTS.
- Proven track record in a leadership role within education, ideally as Head of Maths or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and effective teaching strategies that cater to a diverse student body.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire both staff and students.
- A strong commitment to inclusive education, with skills in adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of all students.
