Procurement Officer

Posted by Morgan Law.

My central London public sector client is looking for a Procurement Officer to join this small, but busy department. The role of the Procurement Officer will be to support the Procurement Manager in achieving best value and cost effectiveness through whole life contract management, delivering service and quality from the most suitable suppliers whilst ensuring full compliance with public contract regulations 2015 and public sector practices.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Assist in drafting of specifications and tender documentation.
  • Publishing contract opportunities on etendering portal and on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder.
  • Assist in evaluation of SQ and tender submissions.
  • Assist, and on occasion lead, in the tender return process and tender exercises using In-Tend software, as directed by the Procurement Manager.
  • Assist in the debrief process, in-line with public sector obligations and policies.
  • Regularly undertake due diligence checks on new suppliers

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a public sector procurement role as well as the ability to manage your own workload and deal with stakeholders and suppliers.

Ideally the successful candidate will be immediately available as this role is being offered on a permanent basis and will require 1 day a week in the London office. Salary on offer is £33,000 to £40,000.
