Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Seeking a mechanically biased multi skilled Maintenance Engineer for a global manufacturer based in Nottingham. As a multi skilled Maintenance Engineer you will work in a safe manner to maintain and repair site facilities, plant and equipment and update all relevant documentation. The company work in a heavy engineering sector so experience with larger machines would be advantageous.

If you have only mechanical skills and no electrical, that is ok, and we would still be very keen to speak to you.

Shift pattern:

Mainly working Mon to Fri double days, but there is the potential to work nights if production volumes reached the required amount. Quite rare at the moment, but you must be prepared to work them if requested.

  • Week 1: (Mornings) Mon - Fri 6am to 1.30pm
  • Week 2: (Afternoons) Mon - Fri 1.30pm to 9pm
  • Week 3: (Nights) Mon - Thurs 9pm to 6am (if required to, and more shift premium would be paid)

Duties of a Maintenance Engineer

  • Perform reactive maintenance and tasks in line with machinery PPM schedules
  • Maintain documents to ensure they are correct and up to date
  • Assist in continuous improvement ideas and projects
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Report machinery breakdowns / PPM status for shift handover
  • Provide realistic time / cost estimates for completion of maintenance tasks
  • Assist in the sourcing and purchasing of spare parts and equipment

Skills and experience required:

  • Fully apprenticeship trained, mechanically biased multi skilled engineer.
  • Mechanical qualifications of Level 3 standard or higher
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or ideally heavy industry sector
