TRAINEE DANGEROUS GOODS PACKING SPECIALIST

UCH Logistics is a dynamic, customer focused provider of specialist transport services to the airfreight industry. Established in 2000, we have built a reputation for offering reliable, time-sensitive and next day deliveries throughout the UK.

We are now seeking a Trainee Dangerous Goods Packing Specialist to join our growing Export Packing division within our successful transport and logistics organisation. This exciting opportunity will see your DG knowledge and practical carpentry abilities used to ensure all DG related freight is prepared and packed to our customers' exacting specifications and fully compliant with CAA regulations. The successful candidate will very likely have:

  • Basic Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Packing or Similar
  • Problem solving skills and an eye for detail
  • A flexible, adaptable and responsible approach to contribute to the success of this busy and growing division
  • To enjoy being hands-on
  • Current Driving Licence in order to visit other local Company and customer sites
  • Forklift Truck training certificate would be an advantage although training can be arranged
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure our customers' specifications are being met and/or exceeded
  • The ability to remain calm in all circumstances
  • Training will be provided on the practical aspects of the job where necessary, whilst also working towards IATA and IMDG qualifications for packing DG by air and sea.

This is a permanent position, and the hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Occasional additional hours may be required in accordance with business needs (overtime payable).

In return, you will receive:

  • £28,000 to £30,000 pa depending on experience
  • 28 Days' Holiday (including Bank Holidays) rising to 30 Days after 2 Years' Service

Employment is conditional upon the completion of a full 5-year background check. Evidence of your Right to Work in the UK will be required at interview.
