We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager. This role involves providing guidance and leadership on the reduction or elimination of risks to health and safety, managing staff and resources efficiently, and ensuring company safety objectives are met.

  • Salary: £48,000 - £55,000

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Proactively manage Health and Safety risks and issues, initiating corrective actions, recovery plans, and interventions required to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory standards.
  • Own and implement strategies, systems, processes, and capabilities required to manage Health and Safety on behalf of the company.
  • Develop and propose improvements to policies, programs, and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of EHS operations.
  • Lead the H&S function across operations, ensuring standards are met with consistent execution and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate on Health and Safety projects across all UK-based Operations sites, providing guidance and advice as required.
  • Liaise with management groups at all levels to achieve business objectives through effective environment, health, and safety management.
  • Oversee execution of emergency/hazard response activities and all Health and Safety investigations.
  • Provide guidance on current and future initiatives ensuring compliance with applicable Health and Safety acts and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Health and Safety Degree (preferred), IOSH, NEBOSH qualifications (essential).
  • Ideally 5 – 10 years' experience leading a H&S function.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to set high standards and role model leading behaviour.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at each level.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to business partner the organisation.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
