BI Analyst / Data Engineer - BigQuery, Looker, SQL
My client is looking for an experienced BI Analyst / Data Engineer.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing a data strategy
- Owning the environments necessary for analytics (BigQuery) and visualisation (Looker/Power BI)
- Controlling the capacity and manages the costs of those environments to an agreed budget
- Owning the access control and governance of the analytics system
- Ensuring code is as efficient as possible
- Supporting the wider team in improving their data skills
- Ensuring all processes are GDPR compliant
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining ETL processes
- Working with the Technology team to improve and expand the scope and integrity of data in the ETL processes
- Creating new tables and views of data
- Carrying out data migrations into the analytics structure where appropriate
- Day-to-day bug fixes
- Generating data for use in onward business processes
- Supporting the development of new business processes
- Supporting the ongoing development of the visualisation tool
EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate will likely come from a computer science background with proven experience operating in developer environments. Your experience should include:
ESSENTIAL
- Technical skills including SQL coding
- Data Warehousing
- ETL / ELT
- Knowledge of access control
- Google BigQuery (Standard SQL) or similar
- Looker or similar
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Power BI
- Machine Learning
- Predictive analytics
