Derivatives NQ Solicitor

Our client is currently seeking a Newly Qualified (NQ) Solicitor to join their London office in September 2024. The Derivatives & Structured Products Group, is a Tier 1 team according to Legal 500. The team is dynamic and close-knit, with a proven track record of success, and they are looking to expand further.

The group serves high-profile clients, including major investment banks and funds, and operates at the top of the market. They handle a broad spectrum of complex products, such as OTC derivatives, securitised products, repo, securities lending, asset repackaging, collateralised financing structures, digital assets, fintech, and capital and liquidity-driven transactions. This role involves both transactional and advisory work in a constantly evolving legal and regulatory environment.

As part of this team, you will engage in all elements of a deal, from drafting term sheets and negotiating transaction documents to closing and post-closing activities. For advisory matters, you will analyse issues, utilize the firm's extensive resources, and provide initial recommendations before collaborating with senior colleagues. This role requires interaction with clients and colleagues across the globe, responsiveness to client needs, and a proactive approach to professional development and business growth.

Candidate Requirements

  • Newly qualified solicitor with experience in international finance transactions
  • Previous involvement in complex finance deals during training contract
  • Strong organizational skills and transaction management experience
  • Excellent academic track record
  • Experience in cross-border work
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
