This is B2B tech, it's sometimes complicated, always technical in nature and constantly changing and updating as the technology continues to evolve.

Your role is to lead a small team of content marketers who are responsible for the creation and deployment of multi-channel marketing content for a globally recognised B2B print solutions technology firm.

You and your team will be creating content to support the sales and marketing functions across the EMEA regions. Which means multi-cultural and multi-lingual materials will need development. However, what works in one country doesn't always work as well in another. Especially when it comes to articulating a highly technical product in a meaningful way which achieves cut through with the various audience types and media platforms.

You'll be working within the company's brand and marketing team. Working in close alignment with teams based all across Europe and the EMEA region. Creating and delivering a high-quality content led marketing communications capability which helps:

- The product team communicate their message to the end users about how the product helps solve real world user problems

- The marketing teams raise awareness and interest in both the brand and products

- The sales team generate leads

You and your team will be responsible for:

  • Content strategy and planning - You will be responsible for the content calendar. Working with product, marketing and sales teams across the EMEA region to ensure it meets their requirements. Product launches, promotional events and the likes are properly supported with relevant materials. Leveraging market research and insight to ensure the content that's being produced reflects market needs and interests so it achieves cut through.
  • Oversee content creation and management - A lot of content will be for digital consumption. However there will also be some offline too (promotional materials, brochures, etc). But the bias of content leans into whitepapers, blog content, videos, webinars, social media, case studies, website content, etc. You and your team will be responsible for its creation and curation. With the support of both a digital and creative agency too.
  • Digging into performance - Utilising Google Analytics to track how content is performing. As well as working with the digital agency who will be executing paid media campaigns across display and social channels. Giving guidance to the agency on what's working and what's not in weekly meetings.
  • Brand oversight - ensuring consistent tone of voice and visual identity across all channels and media types, so the brand has a unified presence across all markets too.
  • Team management - keeping your team on track, engaged and motivated. Whilst also providing coaching, mentoring and support where needed.

There will be some travel with this role, principally to one of three potential EU territories. It's typically one over-night every 2 months. Usually around engagement with sales leadership teams, marketing leadership meetings and general management meet ups.

Experience needed

  • Must have - International content marketing experience for a B2B tech firm - software or hardware based
  • Ideally have a broad content marketing background covering written and video based, long and short-form marketing communications
  • Have experience of managing agency partners - creating briefs, overseeing their output and managing performance
  • Have direct line management experience of content marketers/copywriters before
  • Ideally have experience from your earlier career days of being a hands-on copywriter/content marketer
  • Know your way around Google Analytics, and how to measure content performance
  • Good understanding of tone of voice and visual identity management, ensuring consistency of comms
