We are seeking an experienced ER Advisor to join our team in Ipswich. This is an office-based role, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, with no option for hybrid working. The successful candidate will have a strong background in handling case work related to employee relations and will be instrumental in providing advice and support to managers and employees.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Offer guidance and assistance to both management and staff regarding issues related to employee relations, including but not limited to performance management, disciplinary actions, managing absences, and accommodating flexible work arrangements.
  • Lead the investigative process for workplace concerns, ensuring all proceedings, including disciplinary hearings and appeals, are conducted in accordance with the company's established policies, while upholding principles of fairness and uniformity.
  • Act as a champion for the company's Absence Management policy by mentoring managers on effective implementation and follow-through of required measures.
  • Craft and assemble various written materials such as correspondence, reports, and documentation pertinent to cases involving employee relations.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of an ER database, scrutinize patterns and metrics, pinpoint opportunities for enhancement, and propose actionable recommendations to the People Relations Manager.
  • Design and facilitate educational sessions and one-on-one coaching for managers and staff on topics related to employee relations.
  • Play a collaborative role in the periodic reassessment and refinement of employee relations policies and procedures to ensure they remain in step with current employment legislation and reflect industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an ER Advisor role or similar, with a focus on case work.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and best practices in employee relations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in conducting investigations, hearings, and appeals.
  • Proficient in setting up and managing ER databases and reporting.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training materials.
