Role Overview:

Job Title: Staff Nurse

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Quality Nursing Care: Provide and maintain high standards of nursing care in a welcoming and safe environment.
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients and families, providing support and directing them to relevant services.
  • Clinical Skills Development: Enhance clinical skills and knowledge to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Nurse-Led Procedures: Perform procedures such as phototherapy, suture removal, wound reviews, and dressing changes after appropriate training.
  • Assist in Minor Surgery: Prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist doctors with dermatological surgeries, ensuring proper documentation and patient discharge.
  • Outpatient Clinics: Offer specialist advice, assess patient care, and provide explanations of management decisions and treatments.
  • Drug Monitoring: Monitor patients' responses to treatment, ensure necessary tests are conducted, and discuss concerns with clinic doctors.

Professional Development:

  • Take personal responsibility for ongoing professional development through clinical supervision, appraisal, and learning opportunities.
  • Participate in mandatory training and clinical education meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with NMC Standards.

General Duties:

  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Produce evidence of annual NMC registration.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements:

  • Travel between work locations is required.
  • Enhanced CRB check is a condition of employment.
  • Membership in relevant national nursing forums is encouraged.
