Who we are

Selwood Housing Group is a not-for-profit housing association committed to providing affordable local homes for our customers. We have nearly 7,000 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership in Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath and North-East Somerset and employ over 300 staff from our offices in Trowbridge and Melksham.

The role

At Selwood Housing we recognise the importance of data in providing valuable and actionable insights. We're seeking a dynamic Group Data Governance Manager to spearhead our initiatives and ensure we are utilising data to its full potential. This is a new role within the company and as such, you'll have the opportunity to establish new metrics, processes and standards.

This role is more than just policy creation; it's about encouraging data-driven decision making through robust governance, technical expertise, and analytical acumen. With a focus on data management, it is also an excellent opportunity to put your previous hands-on technical expertise to good use.

As the Group Data Governance Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies, frameworks, and policies.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture.
  • Leverage technical skills (e.g- SQL, Power BI) to manage, analyse and visualise data.
  • Develop key business insights using innovative models and techniques.

If you have a strong foundation in data governance, solid technical aptitude, and a strategic mindset, this role will allow you to really stretch your legs and have a tangible impact across the business.

What we are looking for

We are open to all backgrounds and encourage everyone to apply, but ideally you will some of the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data governance, management and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Proficient in data management tools and technologies, such as SQL and Power BI
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing staff and motivating staff
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Organisational & time management skills
