We are currently working in partnership with a leading Housing Association based in Kent with who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.
This position is due to start subject to notice, is paying £52,500 and offers 3-4 days working from home.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA and have experience working throughout the Social Housing sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring that financial accounting processes are completely and effectively within agreed
- targets, in line with financial delegations
- Completing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items on a timely
- basis
- Maintaining the fixed asset registers
- Preparing cashflow forecasts and balance sheet reports
- Supporting the Financial Controller in preparing monthly performance and annual financial
- statements
- Monitoring the effective operation of financial and operational controls and procedures, reporting any issues or concerns immediately to management
- Ensuring the monthly payroll process is effective, performing appropriate checks, and liaising with colleagues in the People team and Golding's payroll bureau service to clear errors
- Assisting with the preparation of regulatory returns
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of statutory accounts
Experience required:
- Experience required in a similar financial accounting position
- Experience in the public sector
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate Excel skills and preferably knowledge of Open Accounts
- Fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
