You can play a huge part in this by being at the forefront of the R&D process. With your experience to date you will hit the ground running, working as the stress engineer to provide stress, vibration, and heat transfer analysis of mechanical systems and components, helping influence and define the technical success of the company.

Key Responsibilities of Stress Engineer:

  • Perform technical oversight of stress analysis for all research and development programs.
  • Perform stress analysis using complex finite element and classical book calculation methods.
  • Support associated testing.
  • Solve frame dynamics problems through conducting stress analysis and test for structures.
  • Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems.

Stress Engineer Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field with emphasis on stress analysis.
  • Considerable experience of working in a similar industry on stress analysis
  • A strong understanding of materials, alloys, strength, stiffness, stresses, vibrations, resonances, mechanical, acoustic and shock loads.
  • A working knowledge of FEM software for simulation and analysis of complex structures is (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Ability to successfully adapt and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • A team player with a desire to learn and a strong growth mindset
  • A ‘Can Do' attitude with a positive approach to achieving goals
