Your role will involve managing customer accounts, tracking payments, and supporting the finance team with daily operations. My client is currently recruiting for a new Accounts Receivable Assistant role in Redhill.

Description

  • Payment Processing: Accurately process and record customer payments, including checks, bank transfers, and credit card transactions.
  • Invoicing: Generate and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary details are correct.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts regularly, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Debt Collection: Monitor accounts receivable ageing reports, follow up on overdue payments, and escalate collection issues as necessary.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries, payment reminders, and account statements in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Credit Control: Assist in assessing customer creditworthiness and setting credit limits in accordance with company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare accounts receivable reports, including ageing analysis and payment trend reports, for management review.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions in the accounting system.
  • Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed, including filing, data entry, and handling financial queries.

Profile

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and credit control practices.
  • Potentially working towards an Accountancy qualification.
  • May have previous experience working as an Accounts Receivable Assistant
