This role offers a competitive salary of £70,000 - £80,000 and is based in South Manchester. What you'll do:

As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, compliance, and reporting of the UK & Ireland regions. You will supervise accounting departments across multiple locations, ensuring the integrity of accounts in IFRS and closing company accounts. Your strong analytical skills will be utilised to prepare detailed financial reports, participate in optimisation projects, preparation of various compliance filings including tax returns, statutory consolidation, and contribute to forecasting. Your approach should be based on improving, automating and simplifying processes, solving problems and being able to lead remote and local teams.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, compliance and reporting of the UK & Ireland regions
  • Supervise accounting departments across two divisions in the UK and one in Ireland
  • Manage general accounting teams on several entities in UK & Ireland
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist in the annual budget process for the UK & Ireland
  • Ensure compliance with all local financial regulations and tax requirements
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional development

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Accounting Manager position will bring some experience in a corporate or group finance role along with proven leadership capabilities. As a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with expertise in IFRS, accounting, and financial consolidation, you will have solid knowledge of financial systems such as Hyperion and HFM. Familiarity with SAP would be a benefit but not essential. Your advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, coupled with your strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial information, will be key to your success in this role.
